From Japanese-styⅼe to Western-style

 

  和式トイレをから洋式への改装を求められることがよくあります。

Sometimes we get an order to replace a japanese style toilet with no seat with a western style one with a seat.

本格的な交換工事をすると数日かかる仕事がアタッチメントを取り付けることで数時間で完了します。

Usually it takes more than a few days to complete a project like this but with

a special tool, time can be cut down to just a few hours. 

和式と表されるこのスタイルのトイレですが、世界的にみるとどうなのかと調べたところ、

I wondered what the world thinks about Japanese style toilets so I searched on the internet.

それ以前に世界の約2割の人はトイレすら使えていない事を知りました。

Searching the net about toilets, I realized that about 20% of the world population doesn't even have toilets.

最近よく目にする「ＳＤＧｓ」という世界的な発展活動の対象にも

「衛生的なトイレを世界中の人が使えるようにする」という目標が掲げられています。

We often hear about SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) these days but it came as a surprise that

one of the goals is to "ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all."

それを思えば贅沢なことかもしれません。使ってってほっとするだけでなく、

すこし思いを遠くに移して、この環境に生まれたことへも安堵の心地を持つのもいいかもしれません。

 This opened my eyes and I understood how lucky I am to have the luxury of toilets

where I can just relax and forget about my everyday problems.
